Starting points for our Atlantic Crossing
Whether you embark from the Canary Islands for a full 3-week adventure or join us from Cape Verde for a shorter 2 week voyage, you’ll experience the thrill of navigating the vast Atlantic, bound for the tropical shores of St. Lucia.
Departure Port: Canary Islands – 18.11.2025
The first leg of the Atlantic crossing takes you from the Canary Islands to the Cape Verde archipelago, a classic and strategic route for ocean sailors. Spanning approximately 850 to 900 nautical miles, this passage introduces you to the rhythm of offshore sailing, with steady northeast trade winds, moderate swells, and mild tropical conditions.
It’s a great warm-up before the long ocean leg to the Caribbean—offering time to get into the watch routine, trim sails for days at sea, and truly settle into life offshore. Along the way, you’ll experience open ocean sailing with the occasional visit from dolphins, flying fish, and stunning starry skies.
Arriving in Cape Verde, you’ll be greeted by a vibrant culture, dramatic landscapes, and the satisfaction of your first successful bluewater leg.
Departure Port: Cape Verde – 25.11.2025
The second and most iconic leg of the Atlantic crossing takes you from Cape Verde to St. Lucia—a true bluewater passage across the open Atlantic. Covering around 2,100 nautical miles, this stretch is where sailors embrace the pure essence of ocean life.
With the northeast trade winds in full swing, this leg offers downwind sailing at its finest—long rolling swells, steady breeze, and often days of sailing without touching the sails. It’s a chance to fine-tune your seamanship, master sail trim, and experience the deep, peaceful rhythm of ocean cruising.
You’ll wake up to spectacular sunrises, spend your days scanning the horizon, and fall asleep under a sky filled with stars. Flying fish, dolphins, and the occasional whale might be your only company for days.
After around 12 to 16 days at sea, the sight of the lush, green mountains of St. Lucia on the horizon brings a sense of triumph, awe, and unforgettable memories. It’s more than just a crossing—it’s a life-changing voyage.
Arrival Port: St Lucia 10.12..2025
After weeks at sea, when the green peaks of St. Lucia rise from the horizon and the anchor drops in the calm Caribbean waters, a wave of emotion hits many sailors—relief, joy, pride, and awe all at once.
Here’s what you’ll often hear:
🗣️ “I can’t believe we just crossed an ocean.”
The realization that you’ve sailed over 2,000 nautical miles, powered only by wind, is both humbling and empowering.
🗣️ “That was the adventure of a lifetime.”
The rhythm of life at sea, the endless blue, the sunrises, the stars—it’s something few forget. It leaves sailors feeling more connected to nature and themselves.
🗣️ “I’ve never slept so well—or eaten so strangely!”
From freeze-dried meals to creative galley inventions, food becomes part of the journey. And after days on a moving boat, sleeping in a still berth feels like pure luxury.
🗣️ “I’d do it again in a heartbeat.”
Yes, it’s challenging. Yes, it’s long. But ask almost any sailor at the dock in Rodney Bay, and they’ll tell you—it was worth every mile.
🗣️ “Land smells incredible.”
After days of salt and sea air, the lush scent of the tropics is unforgettable. The first barefoot step on warm sand is nothing short of magic.

Living on a Yacht vs. in a Hotel on shore

Imagine waking up each morning to the gentle sway of the ocean, the sound of waves lapping against the hull, and the sight of a breathtaking sunrise over an endless horizon. This is the reality of living onboard a sailing catamaran for your vacation—a reality that offers a level of relaxation and disconnection from the daily grind that is unparalleled by any shore-based holiday. A sailing catamaran serves as your private, floating oasis, far removed from the hustle and bustle of crowded beaches and tourist hotspots. The spacious decks and cabins provide a sense of freedom and privacy, allowing you to unwind and savor each moment.
Living on a catamaran immerses you in the natural world like never before. Each day, we anchor in the best Kitesurfing and wingfoil spots you can imagine, swim in crystal-clear waters, and explore pristine beaches that are often inaccessible from the shore. The sights, sounds, and smells of the sea become a constant backdrop, helping you reconnect with nature and appreciate its simple, yet profound beauty.
One of the greatest benefits of living onboard a catamaran is the opportunity to truly unplug. With limited access to the internet and a lack of constant digital distractions, you can disconnect from the demands of daily life. This digital detox allows you to focus on the present moment, enjoy the company of likeminded people and focus on whats truly important.
